Active Isolated Stretching(AIS) and Strengthening is a method of muscle lengthening and fascial release that redefines what it means to “stretch.” AIS is a type of facilitated stretching that employs active movement on the part of the recipient to balance the pull of soft tissue across a specific joint, providing both functional and physiological restoration to superficial and deep fascial planes. AIS decreases pain, improves joint flexibility and balance and increases muscle strength. AIS assists in injury prevention and aids with recovery after working out.
